hot weather problems 200 1983

today was the first day that its been hot, mid 80's. the car has been starting fine. it idles rough for about a minute with a reving idle then smoothes out, for the most part. but today when i ran the car it acted like the throttle was broken (its not). it wouldnt go even with the pedal to the floor. it only started to do this after the car had been running for about an hour. it was also making what i would discribe as a spiting sound when you gave it gas and would then go.
