Looking at purchasing a 245GL a few questions 200 1980

Fellow bricksters,

I am looking at purchasing a 1980 245 Wagon manual. However before I have a serious look at this brick I have a few questions. What motor is in this? Uses no oil at all and starts/idles no dramas. When I first looked at it, it was late in the evening so I could not have a close look at the engine bay. What transmission, the electronic overdrive has failed on this. This appears to be the only drama. Does that sound like a job for an auto electrician or a transmission specialist? Overall not to concerned as this will hopefully be my project car that I can tinker around with. It has about 281K miles on it and is asking only $350.00 for it. Any advice at all on what to look for when I look at during the weekend would be excellent.

P.S. it is that canary yellow, I love my Volvo's but that colour!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers
