Spoke too soon...! 200

I posted earlier today that I'd successfully completed intake manifold gasket/vacuum hose/injector seals replacement yesterday. Wrong! "Success" was based on improved idle and a smooth drive around the neighborhood. But now...

I tried to take the car (84 245ti) up to highway speeds. It wouldn't shift from 2nd to 3rd. And when I release pressure on the accelerator pedal the rpms sort of lazily drift back down instead of falling off immediately...

I took a look at the kickdown cable at the throttle pulley and it seems to be missing a cable stop, which seems like it might be important...

Anyway here's what I replaced yesterday: IM gasket, injector seals, air control valve (used), throttle body (used), throttle switch (used), throttle body gasket.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated!
