I just received ,from an eBay seller, a used ZF power steering rack in what appears to be good shape. Unfortunately it was advertised as a Cam rack ( it has ZF stamped right on it!?), and my 86 240 for which it was ordered , currently has a Cam rack. I assume that the only difference is in the mounting brackets? I usually see kits at the suppliers for converting a ZF to a Cam,not the other way around, allegedly because there are less ZF racks in the parts food chain and that the Cam racks seem to have held up better over time.
How much of a PIA would it be to convert/install this item? Should I even bother? I will give a plug ( pun intended?) to the Lucas power steering additive/snake oil stuff. It slowed a massive fluid leak long enough to get the 240 through the winter, and let me deal with this in the spring.
Thanks
