Several weeks ago on my way to work in my 90 744ti 177k I noticed that overdrive had not engaged. After I was about ten to fifteen minutes in to my commute it went into overdrive. It was the same scenario on the way home. When checked the fluid it was a little low but filling it did not fix the problem. I swapped the relay with a known good one from my 88 wagon but that did not fix it. I also adjusted the kick down cable but the problem it still there. It appears the transmission needs to get to a certain temp before it will engage. I am considering swapping fluid as it has been about 50k since its last flush.
Is my overdrive going out or is there another solution. Thanks Bryan.
