88 240 A/C and rear tail light prob.'s 200 1988

Couple questions....my 88 240's A/C does not seem to be working. No clicking sound when you turn it on. Sounds like it's dead. Not blowing any cold air at all. Also, having problems with the rear light kit. Some lights work some lights don't. Got new sensors for bulbs but still having issues. Any advice would be appreciated, but please be as specific as possible in what to look for as I am not too familiar with cars but trying to be a bit more self sufficient in maintaining this wonderful car.
