Hard Tube on Axle?

I was working on the gas tank on my 90 740gl and after I was done I noticed a loose tube that was hanging down, I didn't know If i had knocked it off or if it was alread off.

It's about a foot long, small and plastic comming from the top of a the right rear axle.

There was no noticeable place this could go either.

Anyone know what this is?
