Car shudders or dies with power drain. 700 1990

This afternoon my car suddenly began shuddering or stalling when I put my foot on the brake. There was a clicking sound that accompanied this coming from behind the center console where the fuses and relays are. I could easily restart my car with no problem. Sometimes if I put the car into park it would stall or shudder. The shudder could be best described as a dip in RPMs.

Everytime I tried turning the headlights on the engine would shudder.Battery checks okay.Any ideas?
