Has been running fine until this weekend. Took 4 hr freeway drive. Shut down had ice cream. when started, it stumbled, no response to gas, no power, stalled. If gently driven, it can get up to speed, but stalls at stop light.
TODAY, I unpluged AMM, and it idles and responds just fine. Plug back AMM, stumbles, etc. I put a hose on the return fuel line coming off the fuel press reg, and with engine idling, a steady stream of gas poured out., so apparently the pump is OK. Thinking it was fuel pressure reg, I put a vice grip on the return line (to temp. increase pressure) and it ran great. It appears that it is not getting enough fuel, how do I isolate the problem from here without replacing parts randomly? Could a clogged fuel filter lower the pressure enough to produce symtoms? Will replacing the fuel press reg. solve this?
Is it safe to run with the AMM unplugged for any length of time?
Or is this a load of bad gas???
