Carrier Bearing on the PV drive shaft - what to do? 444-544

Had the u-joints relaced on the drive shaft.
But, the center carrier-bearing sounds dry, even a little rough.
It does not look like this part can be disassembled, or lubed.
Anyone know what to do to prevent terminal wear on this part or how to replace it?
