Bricksters,
I have an '83 240 turbo, which no longer likes to idle when the engine is cold. I have to rev it up to about 2k rpm and leave it there for about a minute before it will idle. It has also been quite prone to dying, even when the engine is fully warmed up.
A Volvo mechanic I know recommended that I change out the injector seals and that that should take care of it. I did so. Well, now it is not nearly as prone to dying when fully warmed up, and it also runs smoother, but it still will not idle when the engine is cold. I suspect that it might either by the cold start injector or some sort of cold-start sensor.
Any recommendations as to how I can narrow down the culprit? The only manual I have is a Chiltons, which is just a little bit better than useless (covers all Volvos from 70-89, thus way too general). No specific info regarding this problem.
Best,
Michael
