1990 740 Harmonic balancer, What happened to my guide pin?

OK,

I have been running the REX GL for over 6 months without the pulley part of the the balancer. Yes, It worked fine, just couldn't use a/c, and had to re-rout belts.

Two reasons for this.
1. Initially I was not able to break the pulley bolt.
2. I knew my timing belt needed to be replaced very soon.

So, I thought to knock out 2 birds with one stone.

Story, timing belt finally broke. Replaced it.

When removed Balancer, there was no guide pin. Looked inside crank gear, and the cover outside the gear, and on the ground. It definately wasn't on either Balancer.

So, I went to find out on bricks, if anyone has had these issues. Can't find anyone mentioning the guide pin, anywhere.

Anyway, put the balancer in, and alligned it as best as possible to gear, and cover. It was after Volvo hours, so couldn't call at the time.

Next day, called Volvo, they told me the guide pin is part of balancer, I explained above. He said, it should have, and I need to get another.

It wobbles like you couldn't believe, I painted a couple of marks, and they do NOT shift.

Need Help????

1990 REX 740GL 201K.
