Looking for wax recommendations 200

My '93 245 looks pretty good for now but it has to live outdoors and I'd like to keep it shiney as long as possible. (My previous maroon 245 has total paint oxidation). I've never been one to care for the aesthetic aspects of a car before but I'd like to give it a go on this one. Can I get some recommendations for a carwax or other product for protecting the paint from the elements? Seems I've heard stories of products that actually did some damage so I want to be sure I get the good stuff right from the start. Thanks.
