96' 965Radio reception off/on/off again. Resoldered all antena connections. Still happens 900

Hi, Brickboarders.

Here is my problem. On my 96' 965 the cd player part of the radio works fine but the radio will not work until the radio has been powered on for about five minutes or so. Then it will suddenly come on perfectly clear and work for awhile then [sometimes] crap out again for a bit then come on again. I have dismantled the radio housing and resoldered all of the antenna connections and installed a new antenna plug on the cable end at the radio [spliced in} but not at the antenna itself.

Has anyone else ever experienced this and is it probably the radio or maybe somewhere on the antenna cable connections?
