Looking to replace tires on '91 245. The spec tire for the 240 Wagon is 185/R14. Vehicle currently has P195/75R14. While pursuing the OEM size, I found what many of you have already found: 185/R14 has limited availability choices nowadays. Kelly makes them, Cooper makes them, I believe that Capital Tire makes them. I've had good experience with Michelin tires -- yet Michelin indicates that they don't have an OEM tire fit for the 245.
Now, I would like to purchase tires from the local Costco but Costco will not put on P195/75R14 or any other substitution, only OEM size. On the other hand, Costco has indicated that they can provide a Michelin called "Agilis" in size 185/R14.
Sure enough, Michelin's web site does show the Agilis in a 185/R14 size. It indicates that the Agilis is manufactured in their European plant and is designed for light van commerical applications.
My question is: Anyone running the Michelin Agilis? If so, what's been your experience? This tire meets (actually exceeds) the load capacity rating of the wagon, yet the tire detail does not include ratings on how quiet the tire rides, traction, etc., as they do with passenger tires.
Please let me know.
Thanks!
