940 sluggish from stop-tranny? 900

Occasionally when I try to accelerate from a stop, my '93 940 sedan with 100k miles and auto tranny is very sluggish--just barely oozes away from the intersection. Usually it moves off briskly. The slow start always seem to happen when I'm trying to jump into a space in heavy traffic. Is this a sign of transmission trouble? The car has had all dealer services performed every 10k miles since new.
