Well I thought I had licked it but it keeps coming back.
Every so often, I repeat...very intermittently, I hear a distinctive valve tapping coming from 98 V90(965). It seems to occur after I put the car in neutral after a good long run...at least that's the only time I really hear it.

So far I have tried Marvel Mystery Oil: hard to tell if it does anything
AutoRx treatment: save your $25
Techron fuel system cleaner: hard to tell
Redline Sl-1 fuel system cleaner:hard to tell

I guess additives/treatments just don't work. What exactly is this sound and why do I hear it only intermittently with a hot engine. It goes away on it's own after about 5 minutes at idle and then the engine sound perfect. How do I get rid of it? And...do I need to get rid of it?
