I got my first 740 on E-bay. Up to now I've had 240's but this one was $50, low miles and right in my town so I bit. It was hit in the left front and I had acces to a parts car so I started to fix it. Damage was worse than I first thought, I cut out the damaged metal and took a chunk of the parts car to replace. Now the problem-I measure the top of the strut tower and it is moved rearward about 3/4 of an inch. I tried to chain it to the side of another car and pull it back but just ended up pulling the other car. I have a porta-power and gave some thought to putting it between the strut and a beam against the firewall but am afraid I would just end up bending the firewall. Anyone ever have something like this fixed? Nice car and I hate to give up on it-not much invested so far.
