this is an intermittent problem.
Occasionally when driving, i'll see a puff of white smoke (oil) out of the tailpipe, and every once in a while the dipstick is 3-4 inches out of its perch, and oil everywhere under the hood (the two go hand in hand)
Funny thing, the turbo is great both it and the engine are newer (70k well maintained hwy miles) and seems to only occur occasionally.
I'm positive its not the turbo, (the intake hoses are relatively clean) I know the engine is good, compression is 130 or higher on every cylinder, and the car has been babied and used only for maryland to buffalo hwy runs till this year.
Changed oil, it can go a few days with no symptoms, then out of the blue it's spraying oil out of the dipstick. (and tailpipe) just did it again today and then stopped and ran 110 miles no problems.
I had a similar problem on my other 740 wagon, but it went away when i changed the oil.
PCV-flame trap? anyone else experience this problem? i'm fairly sure it's nothing major but have no clue where to start.
