Thanks, for your feedback and updating my memory. I was pretty young, when I was in the US Army in Germany, in 1975 . . . I was truly a naive, trusting kid, from rural America. I wanted to go to Viet Nam and fly choppers, but ended up in Germany, instead. Recruiters, what can I say. I think they go to the same school as Used Car Salesmen.
Makes me want to puke about "The Patriot Act". New age McCarthy(ism). I served my country, 10km from the Iron Curtain, living on a high alert status, with a 3 minute life expectancy, in the Fulda Gap. Almost daily, there was a border incident, someone machine-gunned by the East Germans, someone stepped on a landmine, etc. I served another 10 years in the US Army, as a helicopter pilot. What fun -not!
I defy George W. or anyone else to declare I am not a "patriot". I am happily an Australian citizen, now. I had flown plane loads of soldiers into Kuwait, February 2003, in support of the present insanity. America has changed so much, since I was a kid, from within, and only recently due to external forces, while the morons in control were asleep at the helm. America voted for voted for them and re-elected them. Got to wonder.
My eyes about the world, in which we live began to open, when I first started traveling overseas, thanks to Uncle Sam.
