I bought my first Volvo and I am very excited about it, but I have a problem. My 1987 760 turbo wagon will stall only when the head lights are on. It drives fine when the head lights are off or only the parking lights are on, but when the headlights are on it will stall. It stalls when the car is idling or when you let off the gas while driving. The car abruptly shuts off; there is no stuttering or rough running. I know the car is off because the dash lights come on. It is an automatic transmission. I stop the car, put it in park and it immediately starts up. However, recently after driving about twenty minutes I turned the headlights on and it did some stop and go driving for three blocks without driving.

I understand these cars have odd electrical problems, often caused by the wire harness biodegrading, but this seems odd. I don't know if the harness has been replaced yet.
