Ignition? I dont need no stinkin' ignition! 120-130

Um, OK, so I exaggerate a little.

Those who have been watching may know I've been on the verge of having the '67 running.
Cool.
The fuel tank is primo (now), the brakes work, the heater is hot (but the window is gone... 'nother story. Oh, and by the way, perfect body caulk for the gas tank to body seal is Camper Caulk. Comes in a nice roll with tape on one side so you just peel'n'stick and viola! "factory" seal).
Got that nice fixed and squeaky clean tank in there and 5.7 US gallons of unleaded ready to ignite...
Um, honey? Have you seen my key?
House turned upside down but no key. Obviously it's somewhere stupid, but alas, my best stupid skills are no match for my hiding place.
Sweet wife, love of my life. gazes lovingly upon me and says, "Go get a key and stop whineing."
Gotta love that.

Long story somewhat shorter, local NAPA had a "universal" ignition switch for $16 USD and change. Only issue was I had to run a separate hot lead to the coil (but the other switch did too, so no problemo). Bang, zoom, I gotta CAR, by gum!
You may sense that I'm a little tickled.

Came back from test drive (late for dinner party) to find loving and always correct wife waiting for her promised ride (red face, oops, sorry hon).

Even let her drive it to dinner party (uh, second doesn't like to be selected from third without double-clutching, sweetie).

The "original" switch? A local salvage yard job out of some toyota or something! COMPLETELY wrong for the application. BONUS: got the giant ball of electrical tape out from behind the dash and can actually see where the wires go now!

Oh, as an aside in the gas tank ordeal, I pulled the sender unit when I was contemplating cleaning and coating the tank myself (will coat later). Darn thing was SOLID with icky varnish. Looked like an antique with way too much patina (as in applied with a putty knife).
One hour (really) in the nasty carb dip and it could move again.
Three days in the air for the gunk to dry out so I could flake it off and then doused with oven cleaner.
Still won't work worth a darn so...
Opened the tabs and disassembled (surprisingly easy) and a more thorough cleaning with a toothbrush and more oven cleaner. Dem wires are itty bitty!
Still won't ohm-out smoothly so I spent another hour with tarn-x and a cotton swab cleaning the last of the varnish/corrosion off the wires.
OK, I'm done. Work or not, I don't care anymore! bend the tabs back (don't lose that little spring!) and pop it in the tank.
I'll be gosh darned if it don't work like a charm (suprised happiness and warm glow suffuses self)!

And honey bunch better half wonders why I torture myself this way!
