9004 HID Conversion-Which Bi-Xenon technology works better 900

I am considering converting my 9004 headlight system to a bi-xenon HID system.

There are two basic design that are use to accomplish the hi/lo beam.

One system uses a sysyem that pulls the bulb back into the socket. This retracted position then provides the low beam with the same lamp.

The other system uses a motor to flip a little metal lens hood to obtain the low beam

Does anyone have any experience on either design technology.
