While doing the webbing for the front seats (2" Polypro webbing, aluminum plates and a couple of rivets seemed to work like a charm), I noticed that the floor on the passenger side was wet. So I pulled out the mat and removed the rather soaked jute and left the tar "stuff" behind. An hour with the heat gun and it seems pretty dry. There doesn't seem to be any rust as a result but...here's the question(s).
Should I pull off the tar "stuff" and replace it with Dynamat or similar?
The previous owner had siliconed the windshield to death (may still leak), but I will change the gasket when my uncracked windshield arrives. There doesn't seem to be any internal signes of leakage (streaks etc under the dash), could the leak come from elsewhere?
I noticed one vent window seal is shot, could the door leak into the car?
Thoughts?
