Socket in timing belt cover. How do I get it out?! 700 1988

I replaced the water pump on my 1988 740 turbo today. Everything went perfect until:

As I was tightening the last nut, the 10mm socket popped off my ratchet and jumped into the lower timing belt cover. I can't even see it, but I'm 100% positive it's in there. Took precautions to cover that area when removing the nuts, but didn't think about it when tightening them.

How do I remove the lower cover without having to remove any belts or pulleys? Any advice to get the socket out would be of great help.

Thank You,

EDP
