I just acquired a 1990 740 that had a bad head temp sensor and had totally flooded the oil pan with gas. (Like about a gallon or more!) The oil light was on and I suspected the o rings at the pump were swollen so I pulled the pan, put in a used turbo pump and o rings and after putting it all back together I put an oil pressure gauge to see if everything was OK. Now when cold I have over 65 PSI (pegs my gauge) and never goes below about 30 PSI. Where should the oil pressure relief valve open up? What else could cause too much oil pressure?
Thanks, Jon
