Heat 200 1983

My car blow heat all the way to the cool side of the slider. I can get it to blow cold if I slide it all the way to the left and theen turn on the ac....then it if I turn the ac off it will allow outside cool air in.

Do I need to adjust the cabling or is something else wrong.
