Hey guys, first off I'll admit I'm an idiot when it comes to reading wiring diagrams. When I got the car it had a jerry rigged altenator in there on some home made bracket and it was way out of line hence destroying belts. It had an internal regulator and as far as I know was working. I grabbed a proper one off an engine I had lying around and began to install it.
The problem is that when I hook the battery up the amp light comes on in the gauges with the ignition off. When the car is running the amp light goes off.
I can only identify these following posts 61, B+, D-, DF. Do I have a wire on the wrong post? The main battery lead is hooked to B+, DF goes to one side of the regulator, 61 goes to the other side. There is another coming from the harness with the main battery lead also going to 61.. is this wrong? Do I need another wire going somewhere? I have nothing going to D- should there be one and where?
Thanks for any help,
Andrew
