I found an 88 740gle turbo wagon that a tow truck driver had in his yard that he is will to sell me for $250. Here are the details. The car was pulled from a ditch and the owner never paid so the car is now the tow truck drivers. I drove the car and it starts and runs smooth. It has some front end problems. I can see a bent drivers tie rod (I think). The bent piece is has a boot attached to the inside and a round steel rod that connects to the wheel. The car is clean inside and has some detailed maintenance records that show when the timing belt was changed and other misc. work. The car has 187K. The turbo hoses seem ok and do not have cracks. What issues will I be dealing with on the steering or front end? What should I check and how? Will this car be work taking a gamble on to fix up for my son to drive to school?
Thanks
Also own a 91 740 non turbo sedan w/150K
