97 960 front end creaking & washer level sensor 900

I've noticed that whenever I cross a speed bump or any raised surface that a creaking noise comes from the front end of my car ('97 960 w/ 78k mi.). Could I need shocks, struts.......?
How do I know when these need to be replaced & cost.

The washer level light is staying on even though it's full. Is it possible to replace the sensor myself?
I will only try it if it's a plug in type repair.
I called the dealer & they told me that unplugging it would not turn the light off & could cause other problems with the computer.

Another thing I've noticed is when I first touch the acceleration pedal I hear a 'loose' or almost rattling noise. The noise isn't there when the motor is idle or above 10 mph.It only happens when I initially hit the gas. Any ideas on what this may be?
Thanks for in advance for any help you can give.
