Can I adapt an early fuel level sender/transfer pump to work in a later car? The later car is my '89 wagon. The sending unit is from an '84 and it is definitely the earlier version. It is servicable.
This question is brought about by the fact that the existing connector on the sending unit in the wagon has met it's demise. The rest of the short wiring harness to the tank is okay. But both parts of the connector are corroded beyond any use.
