Crankshaft pulley bolt 700

I have remove the crankshaft pulley bolt on at least 3 740s a number of times with an impact wrench. I noticed in the FAQ it states you can snap the crank doing this. IPD says you can use their tool to hold crankshaft pulley if you don't have air tools. I am questioning if there is a real risk of snapping the crank. I am about to do my "new" 91 and now I am concerned. Any ideas?
Chuck
