You know, if you have 3 B20s and a B18 laying around, you kinda figure that you will have enough spare parts for just about any eventuality .... WRONG !! Turns out that the engine I have in the car has the 8 bolt flywheel and all the others have 6 bolt cranks. So when the bolt in the front of the crank decided to leave due to improper tightening ... don't ask ..... anyway .... I hunted down another pulley, bolt and washer from one of the other 3 engines only to find that the bolt will not fit the crank in the 8 bolt flywheel B20E. My local VOLVO tech is rummaging through his accumulated spare parts bin and hopefully I will be mobile again tomorrow and be able to appreciate the new steel timing gear that I have also installed to replace the fiber one that decided to shed it's teeth the other day. Isn't depending on an old car for daily transportation FUN ??
