It is not enough when someone asks about removing the Crankshaft Bolt, on a car with an Automatic Transmission "to use the rope trick" or to brace the bar/rod against the ground and crank the engine over . . . which is dangerous, if the direction of rotation is other than what you think or if the bar/rod slips and flails everything in the engine bay and possibly you.
