diesel to gas engine swap? 700

I have a 1985 740 with bad diesel motor but body and interior in good shape.My son has a 1984 240 with good gas motor and auto trans but the body is pretty rough would it be feasible to replace the diesel in the 740 with the motor and tran from the 240?What kind of swap would this be? difficult?would the wiring harness and ecm have to go with the gas engine? the diesel is an auto also.has anyone ever done this?
