940 LPT ...high consumption 900 1995

Yo, Hi! My name is Foong, am from Malaysia, well, i'm driving a 940 LPT, over here we call it SOFT TURBO, anyway, i love this car BUT i have a problem, overall it drives fine, but whenever i accelerate , there is some binking sound,very mild, but the problem that pisses me off is the consumption, i used to drive a 240 with a B230E, RM10 gives me around 50 km, and from what i know , a properly tuned 940 LPT can easily achieve 70km on RM10, my mechanic can't rectify the problem but suspect either the AIR FLOW METER or the LAMDA sensor is not functioning well, can anyone help???? Please.......thank you,thank you
