Keyless Entry 900 1997

I have a 1997 960 which I purchased used. The dealer did not have or did not give me the keyless remote for my car. I did purchase a remote from Sears with three buttons, the sole purpose of which is to open my garage. Does anyone know if the other two buttons can be programmed on this remote or do I need a Volvo remote from the dealer. To me, keyless entry isn't worth $130.

Thanks in advance for any input or advice.
