No start when engine is warmed to operating temp 200 1988

The last two weeks i have noticed that when my 1988 240, with 4 speed auto trans and 230 engine (260,000)is driven to its operating temperature here in Houston, along with the a/c on (a bit low on freon), when i turn off the car, then come back in five minutes or so to start it. Nothing...Zip...Nada... I turn the key and it seems that there is no current to the starter. The last time this happened, I had just got gasoline, tried to start, nothing. I called AAA, then pushed the car away from the gas pump. About 15 minutes had lapsed. On a whim, I tried to start, it my new rebuilt bosch starter (replaced 9 months ago) kicked in the engine fired right up, and i drove on my way. This has happened now four times. It seems that it does not happen when i park, turn the engine off, then start it right back up, no problem. But if i wait a minute or so, then nothing. While i don't know what the heck is happening, i suspect a relay? I invite everyone's input.

Thanks

ray
