Airbox/preheat hose/thermostat help... 200

hey all,

Alrite so after being heavily persuaded by all the postings on this subject, I'm gonna tackle removing my pre-heat hose and accordingly my airbox thermostat in order to preserve my AMM (which could be in questionable condition to begin...)
(before i begin my rant, I want to do this RIGHT, not necesaarily quickly, so any advice will help!)
First, When doing this, should I remove the entire airbox assembly? That seems easiest, that way I have ability to plug/keep shut the "flapper" valve.

Second, besides the obvious, Is there any "harm" involved in taking out the thermostat? Is my ECU gonna be all upset? Knowing this in advance will certainly change how I go about this project.

Alright thats about it, but anything you guys can give me will help a lot!

Thanks

oh and ps while many of you don't "believe" in additives, Im gonna seafoam my car tomorrow too, I let you know how it goes!
