Well, it's getting hot in Dallas again and I'm in the process of trying to optimize the A/C on the 93 245. A local shop has an A/C check special in which they pump out the r134a, weigh it and recharge to spec so I'm going to get it done. I'm thinking of installing a Smart VOV in place of the stock orifice tube at the same time for better cooling at low speed. I Put one on in a 92 Ford van and it really made a difference. Here's a link:

Go to the "Technical" tab to see the two basic types. Does anyone which type (with cross stop, or without cross stop) is in the 93 240s? I notice the parts shops carry one orifice tube for the 91-92 models and another for the 93. Does this matter if I go with the Smart VOV?
Also, FCP Groton carries a "Automatic Adjuster Orifice Tube" 1993:

Anyone know if this is the same as the Smart VOV? The guys at Groton didn't know.
Thanks.
