In my internet research I've seen many variation to the fuel line path from the mechanical pump to the carbs. My own setup loops back to the rear of the engine, when it hits a shielded in-line fuel pump, then wraps around the rear of the motor where it hits an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, before it runs into the Carb.
A very nice setup I saw has the glas bowl fuel filter on top of the fuel pump and a rigid metal line that ran around the front of the block and back to the carbs.
Another two setups showed me a hose that simply ran over the top of the valve cover (I think this was stock).
What's right, what's wrong, whats the most ideal setup?
