Help! The power driver seat in my '93 940 sedan is stuck ... 900 1993

Help! The power driver seat in my '93 940 sedan is stuck in the furthest aft position. The seat has been slow to operate forward and backwards since I bought the car 3 months ago. Additionally, the seat appears to be twisting on it's tracks (not aligned with the car) towards the right. As the seat traveled barckward it stopped on the left side but continued moving aft on the right side. Now the darn thing is stuck and twisted! The motor is still powering the flexible driveshafts on both the left and right sides. The tracks are free of debris. Do the gear boxes on these seats tend to jam or have increased resistance with age? How can I free the seat and get it realigned? If anyone out there has any suggestions it would be Great. Thanks for your help.
