glue for quarter window locking mechanism etc. 140-160 1968

I am looking for a good glue to use on my passenger side quarter window lock. I have had no success with any glass/metal glues purchased from local hardwear stores. I would also like to know if anybody has put in an updated front crank seal in their B20. I did this at the same time I got my head rebuilt. It does not leak oil now but I did notice an unusual noise that was not there before (kind of a high pitched sound). I did not check the clearance around the seal. Could this be the problem?
