High crankcase pressure - clean flame trap 200 1991

Hi,

Going over my son's 240 yesterday, I noticed a slight oil leak from up between the engine and trans--the car has always been bone dry up to this point. Loosened the oil filler cap, and it "danced" pretty well on top of the valve cover--pressure seemed much higher than usual. I'm curious as to why the pressure would be high . . . .

I checked the flame trap, it was clean--so were the various hoses I could reach from the top side of the engine (the thin to the intake manifold, the big one from the top of the trap to the corregated hose between the mass air sensor and the manifold). Also, I had cleaned out the black plastic separator about 2 years ago--I'd like to think that it's not completely plugged up yet.

Any ideas as to what's causing the high crankcase pressure? I'd like to figure out what's up before I lose a seal.

Thanks in advance!

Steve A-
