i just performed my first atf flush last wknd, dilligently following the procedures posted here. everything went fine. however, as i was doing this i realized that i was replacing 2 qts of very hot ATF fluid with 2 qts of 65 degree AFT fluid. i briefly paused, but from what i could remember in chemistry, liquids don't increase measurably in volume as the temp increases, so i continued. i was very precise in measuring how much i drained out and added in. when i finally checked it the next time i had it hot, the level was quite high...above the plastic at the end of the dipstick, probably by 1/4". the only other thing i can think of was when i measure the level the first time, i drove the suggested 10 miles on the highway (15 minutes). when i measured the level after the flush i had just driven about 20 miles in mixed highway/stop and go driving(45 minutes).
so i have a couple of questions...
1. how did this happen?
2. how much should i flush out to get back into the proper range?
thanks!
