the oil filter has a sandwich plate then goes right to the filter... makes it very hard to get the filter off as it sits right under the turbo and over the motormount and crossmember
this is the sandwich plate on my bad engine... note it is bolted to the oil filter location on the block then has a relocation bracket.../img]

the problem i have is i want to use the one from the bad engine... but it has a long though bolt though the adapter fitting the one on the good engine has the part the filter screws onto mounted in the block...
so my question is can that filter mounting screw thingi on the good engine be removed so i can use the though bolt from the bad engine along w/ the relocation sandwich plate with it or am i stuck with cursing my oil changes untill i buy a filter relocation kit?
thanks
