Help, changed my timing belt and tested before complete reassembly- ran great but when completely assembled won't start, no spark 700 1989

Hi,

I am hoping that someone may know what is going on with my 1989 760 Turbo. I just changed the timing belt. Before reassembling everything, I started the car to make sure it ran and sounded good- which it did. I then proceeded to put everything back together. After reassembly, I tried to start the car but it would not start. I found that the fuse that is located right next to the battery(the one that is set between the battery and a wire leading to the battery)was blown. I replaced the fuse but the car still would not start. I pulled a spark plug to see if it was getting spark but it was not. So the car started fine after installing the new timing belt but something happened while I was reassembling the belts and fan and what not and now the car is not getting any spark. I wonder why that fuse near the battery blew and if that is somehow related to the no spark situation. Any thoughts regarding this situation will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Patrick (1989 760 Turbo Wagon, 168k)

Also, I did not disconnect the battery while I was working on the car.
