The alternator belt begins squeaking when the headlites are initially turned ON 200 1989

If I turn the headlights back to the OFF position and then turn them back ON, the squeaking alternator belt stops squeaking. The '89 240 does this just about everytime the headlights are switched ON after the car is initially started at night.

Also...what are the IPD alternator brush kits for?? There's also some sort of accessory bracket bushing replacement kit that I've seen on IPD as well.....when are these necessary??? Mine has ~175k on it.
