I have owned this 1994 940 for the last 5 years and the A/C has never blown very cold. The evaporator has been replaced because of a leak. The condensor and orifice was replaced at the end of last summer and the reciever drier has been replaced twice. This year it still wasn't blowing cold so I added 1/2 can of refrigerant. It seemed to help a little. I had the A/C on in the morning (70's outside) and it worked pretty good. Coming home (90 deg. outside) it barely worked going down the highway. In stop and go traffic, forget it. I noticed going down the highway the compressor would kick off. Then when it kicked back on, it discharged the refigerant in a big spurt. Like a pop off valve. It discharged a couple of times. Looks like out the back of the compressor. What is going on here? Too much refrigerant? Was there more pressure in the system when it was hot out? Did this screw up anything? Is my compressor shot now? I let some refrigerant out of the system. What should I do? Why won't the system blow cold?

Also, just this season, my dash vents switch to the defrost and floor vents when the car is under load. I found a leak in one of the vacuum hoses going into the firewall and out to valve and T under the intake. I repaired it but nothing has changed. Any ideas?
