940 - Idle shudder with AC 900

1993 945T 92k miles
When the AC compressor cycles on and off at idle, my faithful Volvo shudders and drops to about 450 rpm before stabilizing and returning to a typical 800-850 idle. I've cleaned the IAC and am planning the following:
-new plugs
-clean intake manifold
-check that the idle stop switch is correctly adjusted

Any other suggestions? My wife was due yesterday, and I want to get this right the first time if possible.
